(215)697-9652. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial
items prepared i/a/w the format prescribed in Subpart 12.6 of the FAR,
as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
This constitutes the solicitation for the required items. Proposals are
hereby requested under RFP N00140-96-R-3411, a subsequent solicitation
document will not be issued. FISC Det Phila intends to purchase, on a
full and open competitive basis, twenty-two (22) 10-inch
semi-universal dividing heads plus 4 jaw chucks to be used on mill
presses. Award of a firm fixed price contract is contemplated. The
standard industrial classification code is 3545. Dividing heads plus
chucks must be commercially available. Requirements to be provided:
High Precision Dividing Head 550 series must be adjustable between -10
degrees tp and +90 degrees, capable of dividing any angle by the
direct, indirect, or differential methods. The Dividing Head must have
a tapered roller bearing spindle, a direct mounted 24 division
indexing plate (three dividing plates will be included), hardened and
ground worm gear, have a 40 to 1 ratio and positive locking mechanism,
and use a 360 degree brake shoe. The dividing head and chuck must be
in accordance with the following specifications: Spindle Thread (mm)

Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items, The Government intends to
make an award to the responsive, responsible offeror who submits the
lowest overall price, FAR 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and
Certifications-Commercial Items, FAR 52.212-4 Contract Terms and
Conditions-Commercial Items, and FAR 52.212-5 Contract Terms and
Conditions Required To Implement Statutes Or Executive Orders: The
following numbered subparagraphs under paragraph (b) of this apply:
(6), (7), (8), (9), (10), (13) and (14). The incorporated provisions
and clauses are those in effect through FAC 90-37. The following
Defense FAR Supplement (DFAR) provisions and clauses apply to this
solicitation and are incorporated by reference: DFAR 252.212-7001
Contract Terms and Conditions Required To Implement Statutes or
Executive Orders Applicable to Defense Acquisitions of Commercial
Items: The following clauses referenced under paragraph (b) of this
clause apply: 252.225-7001. Award will be made to the eligible,
responsible offeror whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, is
determined most advantageous to the Government, considering price. As
a minimum, vendors should provide this office: a price proposal on
letterhead or a SF1449 for the requested items w/unit price, extended
price, prompt payment terms, remittance address, and copies of FAR
52.212-3 and DFAR 252.212-7000. Responses to this solicitation are due
by COB 10 September 1996. All offers shall be sent to FISC Det Phila,
