The Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) is seeking sources for air worthy antenna couplers and antenna coupler controls to interface with the 1 kW High Frequency (HF) mission radios for the Advanced Range Instrumentation Aircraft (ARIA). The ARIA fleet consists of three EC-18B and two EC-135E model aircraft. The six couplers and controls are needed to standardize the EC-135Es. They must be separately interchangeable (form, fit, function, interface, and mounting) with the AT-107B couplers (FSN 5985-01-139-0024) and with the coupler controls (FSN 5985-01-139-9912) presently in the EC-18B aircraft. This hardware must be tunable throughout the entire HF range of 2 MHz to 29.9999 Mhz. The coupler must not weigh more than 22 pounds and must be capable of operating in temperatures from -80 C to +70 C. The coupler control must not weigh more than 7 pounds and operate in temperatures from -54 C to +71 C. Both must operate from sea level to 45,000 feet. Provisions for depot level maintenance support and training are required. Maintenance support concepts should include detailed troubleshooting, repair, and retest of failed units at the contractor's facility. Training technicians at various levels should be considered to include areas of preventive maintenance, system and module removal/replacement, and component removal/replacement.
