This equipment is currently installed at the VAMC, Louisville, KY under the procurement advertised in CBD on april 14, 1995 for ''Necessary design and construction services for lease of an MRI system to be located within existing VA-owned space (located on second floor) under full and open competition which was awarded to Picker International on July 7, 1995. Award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost; delays in additional design, additional construction and removal and replacement of the MRI equipment. This would cause unacceptable delays in providing services to veterans if full and open competition is accomplished. Therefore, negotiations shall commence with Picker International on a sole source basis. See Note 22. (0236)
