The Executive Helicopter Program at HMX-1 has a requirement for five (5) reconditioned, trailer mounted, newly painted, Model MA-1A Air Start Units (also called Huffers) with one year parts and labor warranty. Fabrication and mounting of forklift channels on each unit is also required. The Model MA-1A is a light, compact, deployable, bullet shaped unit designed to be carried by fixed wing aircraft. It is used to start aircraft engines in the event of failure of the on board Auxiliary Power Unit. The Air Start Units needed must be small and light enough to be transported by a CH-46 or placed in the back of a pick-up truck. Required delivery of all units is 4 weeks after receipt of order to Quantico, VA. Estimated award date is 13 Sept 1996. This is the only notice to be issued; under Simplified Acquisition Procedures, no solicitation will be issued.
