award a sole source contract to AT&T Commvault Systems of 5225 Pooks
Hill Road #1728 South, Bethesda, MD 20814 for the following equipment:
One (1) each Optical Jukebox Subsystem Rewritable Form at (MO), 32
Shelves, 2 Drives, Comm Serv Controller, Jukebox Manager Software, AT&T
Backup (ABARS), P/N 324-4X, Thirty-two (32) each 5.25'' Mag-Optical
Disk, 2.5gb Capacity, P/N 781,One (1) each Banyan Vines (Native),
Server Backup Module,25 Server License, (NOTE: Requires TCP/IP patch on
each server) P/N 830-0025, One (1) each Windows NT, Server Backup
Module, 25 Server License, P/N 832-0025, One (1) each Annual
Maintenance, Basic Coverage, 8:00AM to 5:00PM, M-F, 10% of Base System
List, P/N 1220-B, Four (4) each Training, P/N 1240, One (1) each FDDI
Interface Card, P/N 886 and Three (3) each Installation (Daily), P/N
1210. Currently, Hanscom AFB Communication Division has a requirement
to provide base-wide network enterptise backup and recovery system for
Banyan Vines, Windows NT, Unix and Novell LAN, within client server
architecture on optical media.. The system must: 1) support existing
operating systems, including Banyan Vines, Windows NT, Unix and Novell
LAN, with no system upgrades needed to accommodate the backup system,
2) possess integrated and automatic functions for backup and recovery
of data, 3) possess scaleable capacity in order to handle increases in
data storage requirements, 4) be capable of installation on each server
without modification to the server's operation system, 5) have backup
and restoration of data from a single control point, 6) perform
continuous monitoring and logging of events occurring during data
backup and restoration, 7) allow client software installation and
operation while other client server functions are being performed i.e.,
read, write, mail service, routing, etc., 8) provide uninterrupted
service to applications and users client servers, 9) have parameters
that are easily modified by system administrator to define: backup
schedules, categories of data to be included or excluded and file size
limits. 10) secure data from unauthorized access after it has been
backed up to a storage media, 11) perform automatic re-schedule of data
backup of reports and log file to monitor and confirm the backup
operations, 12) control the data backup or restoration using a modem of
at least 2.4Kbps, 13) allow for individual restore passwords for each
client server for security purposes to prevent unauthorized backup and
restoration and 14) allow operation within a class C2 ADP security
level. Any firm that can meet the above requirements should respond to
the above address in writing within fifteen (15) days of this notice.
