N47408-96-R-0001 DUE 093096 POC Contracting Officer, Janet L. Harouch,
805-982-5054 SOURCES SOUGHT: Navy Department is seeking industry
comments and ideas on proposed facilities services to provide total
turnkey service including planning, installation, maintenance, and
removal and/or reinstallation for carpet and modular office furniture.
It is anticipated that separate contracts will be awarded for the
carpet and modular office furniture. The term of the proposed contracts
would be for a base year with four one- year options. However, a longer
term consistent with the useful life and/or warranty of the products
offered may be considered if it is more economical and contractually
feasible given existing rules. The proposed carpet service agreement is
expected to include the cost of removal and disposal of old carpet,
preparing floor surface, furnishing and installing new carpet,
performing and/or monitoring recommended maintenance required to extend
useful life of product such as vacuuming, cleaning, repair and/or
replacement of carpet as required throughout the contract term. Used
carpet must be recycled or reused at the end of the contract term.
Similarly, the contractor would assist in planning new furniture
configuration, dispose of old furniture in an environmentally efficient
manner, furnish, install, repair, reconfigure, and replace modular
office furniture as required throughout the contract term. All parts
must be reused or recycled by the contractor at the end of the contract
term. The goal of the proposed contracts is to provide full service
support in an economical, environmentally efficient manner. Please send
your written comments and ideas on the proposed concept to the address
below. Provide a point of contact and telephone number if you would
like to participate in developing this concept further. Comments and
ideas are requested regarding current industry practices in this area;
recommended products to achieve a low life cycle cost, environmentally
efficient means of acquiring the requested products and services; lease
versus ownership of produts; most economical pricing structure,
including any salvage value; recommended contract term; proposed
service and maintenance responsibilities of each party; and any special
environmental considerations/alternatives. Send information to the
attention of Ms. Janet Harouch, Contracting Officer, NCBC Code 2713,
1000 23rd Avenue, Port Hueneme, CA 93043-4301. Telephone inquiries may
be made at (805) 982-5054, fax (805) 982-9121. The deadline for
comments and any inquiries is September 30, 1996. A formal solicitation
is not planned at this time.(0239) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0096 19960827\W-0003.SOL)
