61 -- 28 VOLT, DC GEARMOTOR SOL N00164-96-Q-0450 POC Contact point, Roger Brett Code 1163WH, 812-854-5269 Contracting Officer Richard Colvin This procurement is for five prototype, 28 volt, DC Gearmotors manufactured in accordance with Crane specification 802027105800 Rev A. (similar to MIL-I-8609). There will be options for an additional 75 gearmotors (three options of 25 each to be exercised over the next three fiscal years). The gearmotors will be used aboard tactical aircraft to drive avionics accessories which do not affect flight safety. A fixed price purchase order will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The procurement is unrestricted. This requirement was previously issued as RFQ N00164-96-Q-0112 in February 1996. No award was made on the previous RFQ and the current RFQ is being issued after revisions to the specification. There is a requirement for environmental testing of the five prototype motors and offerors will be given the option of pricing the five prototype motors based on either the contractor or the Government performing the environmental testing. The RFQ will be issued on or about 11 September 1996, closing on or about 11 October 1996. (0240)
