Bonnie M. McQuiston, Contracting Officier This is a solicitation for
commercial items in accordance with FAR 12. Potential sources sought to
provide Nd:YAG photodisruptor/Argon photocoagulator combination system
and laser indirect ophthalmoscope. In addition to standard features
must have: ARGON (a) combination unit utilizing one slit lamp, (b)
deliver to tissue 2.5 watts blue/green and 1.0 watts green, (c) Power
on Demand tube technology, (d) vacuumed sealed resonator with integral
mirror construction (no brewster windows), (e) laser tube design with
single piece ceramic material, tungsten disks and copper cups, (f) red
aiming beam, which must be visible in standby mode, with continuously
adjustable intensity to 1.2 milliwatts, (g) internal closed loop
cooling system, (h) remote control to access all laser operating
functions, (i) joystick mounted to electronic micromanipulator, (j)
exposure time of .01 to continous and repetition mode of up to nine
shots per second, (k) compatible with multiple delivery systems,
including slit lamp adapter, laser indirect ophthalmoscope, and
endophotocoagulation probes, (l) built in self-test check and indicator
code display, (m) high visibility filter, (n) minimum of one year
maintenance/warranty on parts and labor with local vicinity coverage.
ND:YAG (a) sealed laser head delivering 1064nm wavelength, (b) spot
size of 7um or less, (c) energy selections from 05mJ-10mJ continuously
variable, (d) two point HeNe aiming beam focussing system, (e) 167um
offset, (f) cantilevered table with wheelchair access, (g) optical
resolution of 160 lines/mm, (h) two color fixation light, (i) slit lamp
base with three weight bearing points for smooth movement and balance,
(j) malfunction of either argon or Nd:YAG component must not prohibit
use of the other component, (k) combination system must allow
instantaneous switching from argon to Nd:YAG. LASER INDIRECT
OPHTHALMOSCOPE (a) lightweight Keeler Fison headset design, 1.2 lbs
maximum total weight, (b) HV high visibility physician filter with
maximum visualization of the retina. Fixed filter with no moving parts
and is quiet, (c) 320um spot size at focus using 20D lens, (d)
delivers all wavelengths, (e) adjustable headband, (f) adjustable pupil
spacing, (g) independent aiming beam and illumination light positioning
adjustable knobs, (h) auto shut off illumination light for energy
conservation. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be
