Jacqueline V. Wilson, 301-457-1864 The Bureau of the Census (BOC)
intends to negotiate an other than full and open competitive contract
with Applied Information Systems for the purchase and maintenance of a
Univax Linker (UVL- 4) Software License. The requirements of the
software product are as follows: 1. The pids must be assigned
dynamically by the software; 2. It must be able to support Unisys type
printers; 3. It must be able to run on Micro Vax II and III with DPV11
communication boards over the network; 4. It must have the capability
of terminating a Unisys run automatically if the VAX link is broken; 5.
It must be able to run on various pc's with a VT terminal emulator
residing on it; 6. It must run on VT type terminals; 7. Basically, it
must look like a Unisys 8609-00 T-Mux to the Unisys 1100 or later
operating system. The BOC is currently utilizing four (4) copies of
Applied Information Systems' Univax- Linker software for use in the
Digital Micro Vax's. In order to expand the number of Unisys mainframe
users of this product we must purchase more licenses to copy. The
Government believes that Applied Information Systems is the only
company that can provide the above described software license. The
period of performance will be for a basic year and two option years.
