The University of California, which operates the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) under contract to the Department of Energy, solicits interest from companies wishing to license, develop and market a Network Event Recording Device software package. It is a suite of programs that run simultaneously to monitor the overall computer network. It logs all network events as they happen, responds to pre-programmed instructions and alerts operators to trouble before the system crashes. Any organization with interests in the above subject must respond with a statement of intent describing the organization's technical expertise, manufacturing, marketing capabilities, financial resources (e.g., annual report or corporate resume) and motivation for participating in this program.
