R -- PREQUALIFICATION FOR BRIDGE MAINTENANCE INSPECTION, UNDERWATER BRIDGE INSPECTION, BRIDGE PROJECT SCOPING SOL 1. Contact Point, Julie A. The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking vendors to apply for prequalification in the following defined service classifications. Prequalification is no guarantee of contracting, but will establish a list of qualified vendors to be contacted when a contract is developed. Contracting for Maintenance Services involves use of USDOT funds. Classifications definitions: Bridge Maintenance Inspection - perform visual NBI and Pontis inspections of structures on the state trunkline system. This inspection shall record deficiencies found and recommendations shall be made to correct the deficiencies. Also, note elements that need further inspection or testing that cannot be performed during the regular inspections. Underwater Bridge Inspection - perform a thorough visual and tactile inspection at each structure unit located underwater, recording the depth to the bottom of the channel around all units. Also, record any deficiencies in the substructure units. Stream cross section shall be taken at the upstream and downstream faces of the structure, referencing data to a known elevation. Bridge Project Scoping - evaluation of bridge rehabilitation strategies and selection of alternative based on life cycle cost analysis; performance of destructive and non-destructive tests to determine extent of bridge deterioration, including, but not limited to deck sounding, coring and chloride sampling. Individuals and firms are invited to apply for prequalification by submitting a Service Prequalification Application package, obtaining by writing to the above address. Applications will be reviewed and scored by evaluation teams on the technical information submitted, by MDOT's Office of Equal Opportunity for compliance with Federal Title VI requirements, and by MDOT's Office of Commission Audits on financial information as outlined in the package.
