Project consists of construction of seven (7) cooling pons with a surface area of 22.3 acres located around the perimeter of the main injector ring, including approximately 200,000 CY of excavation, 40,000 CY of backfilling, stockpiling, installation of ten (10) Fermilab-furnished prefabricated pump vaults, 130,000 SY of pond liner, underground pond water piping, intake and discharge structures, miscellaneous concrete structures, including one dam, overflow and transfer vaults and drilled piers, underground duct banks consisting of PVC conduit encased in concrete, manholes, rip rap, grading and landscaping, electrical power connections between service buildings and pump vaults, filing the ponds and testing.
