66 -- HOT CELL SOL 689-135-96 DUE 092496 POC Mark Phillips, 203-937-3086 Supply and install a single Hot Cell F.O.B. destination to the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, West Haven Campus, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT 06516. A Hot Cell is used in preparation of radioactively labeled drugs. Outside dimensions of the hot cell shall be approximately 59''w x 43''d x 95''h, and inside dimensions shall be approximately 44''w x 33''d x 46''h. Front, side and rear walls, floor and roof shall have not less than 60 mm lead shielding. Inside liner shall be of seamless high quality stainless steel. A lead glass window in the front door shall be at least 8''w x 12''h such that all interior areas of the hot cell are visible with shielding equivalent to 60 mm lead and light transmission not less than 70%, and a protective glass layer on both sides of the window. There shall be one exhaust connection port in the roof of the hot cell 6'' in diameter. There shall be one inlet connection port 4'' in diameter, at least one stepped and plugged access port 2'' in diameter, an opening in the floor for an ion chamber, and plugged mounting ports for manipulators. It shall have a 12'' x 12'' sliding shielded door on each side, and the front door opening shall be approximately 29''w x 24''h, with access provided by overlapping sliding vertical panels (approximately 10''w x 24''h) operated manually with moderate effort.The hot cell shall be equipped with a vapor tight lighting fixture. It shall be equipped with at least four electrical outlets, fused and switched from the main control panel individually or in pairs; four quick connect fittings for utilities, with or without solenoid control from the main control panel; a master control panel located either to one side of or above the lead glass viewing port; and a cup sink, fitted with appropriate trap or ball plug. Unit shall include steel support stand; space under the hot cell shall be reserved for user's equipment, such as vacuum pumps, detectors, power supply, etc.. Unit shall be provided installed and functional, including appropriate user training.
