84 -- RUNNING SUITS SOL W16RUN-NING-SUIT POC CONTRACTING OFFICER PATRICIA M. CAMPBELL (914) 938-5856 (Site Code DAAG60) The U.S. Military Academy at West Point is potenially going to replace the current running suits issued to the entire corps of cadets. In doing so the Directorate of Contracting is seeking any/all responsible contractors who may be interested, to submit samples to assist in developing USMA's requirement. The specifications are as follows: Running Suit trousers should be black and the top primarily gold and/or black. The running suit must be able to withstand numerous trips to a commercial laundry service. The trousers must be capable of being used for running in the late fall and winter periods at West Point and should have some wind and water resistance. It should be comfortable to use outdoors. The trousers should be cut to provide a comfortable, straight fit vice a baggy fit. Waistline should be elastic with string adjustment. The pant leg should have calf zippers for easy removal and velcro like ankle adjustments. The trousers should also have a pocket(s) for an ID card or key. The jacket must have the same qualities. Prefer a ''gathered'' wrist with an adjustable velcro band. A hood is also preferred(stored in the collar when not in use). The top should also be zippered for removal. The suit should have adequate ventilation and reflective capability for low visibility running. In addition the suit should highlight the Academy colors (black, gold and gray) and associated logos (''A'', mule, ARMY).
