70 -- COMPUTER INTERGRATED STROBPSCOPY SYSTEM SOL RFQ 614-84-96 DUE 091896 POC Jerry Shepherd, Contract Specialist Phone No. 901-577-7228 This is a Notice of Intent to negotiate a Sole Source Contract with Kay Elementrics Corporation, 12 Mapble Ave., Pine Brook, NJ 07058-9798 under the authority of FAR 6.302 for a Computer Intergrated Stroboscopy System. This system will be used for diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the human larynx and associated structures/systems. Assessments will be made on the dynamic vibratory patterns of rapidly oscillating vocal folds and video recording will take place on the oscillations that will allow further in-depth analysis and individual patient archiving on this computer based system. DESCRIPTION OF ITEMS TO BE ACQUIRED: (1) Rhino-Laryngeal Stroboscope, halogen and xexon (strobe) light source; (2) Rigid Endoscope (70 degrees) that attaches to strobe light source; (3) CCD Camera, S-VHS 5 lux that will attach to endoscope and video recorder; 35mm lens w/eyepiece adapter for rigid scope; (5) Flexible endoscope adapter for connection to Olympus scope; (6) Otoscope Model # 9183; (7) Flexible Endoscope Model # 7105; (8) Color Printer 4'' x 3'' SVHS and VGA images; (9) 14 gauge steel cart to house components; (10) Isolation Transformer to maintain leakage to levels less than 50 micro amps; (11) Installation and Training; (12) 2 Service Manuals and Operator Manuals that will include a parts list and schematics. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals however, all proposals received by September 18, 1996 will be considered by the Government. Information received as a result of this synopsis will be considered solely for the purpose of whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
