Development, 202-501-1400. The General Services Administration (GSA) is
hosting its second in a series of networking sessions for the purpose
of enhancing subcontracting opportunities for small, small
disadvantaged, and women-owned small businesses under its POST-FTS2000
acquisition. The FTS-2000 program is the voice/data communications
system for the Federal Government. Competing prime contractors include;
AT&T Government Markets, Bell Atlantic Federal Systems, Bell South
Corporation, The Boeing Company, Computer Sciences Corporation, EDS
Government Services, IBM Government Systems, Government Systems, Inc.,
GTE Government Services, IBM Government Systems, Sprint-Government
Systems Division, and TRW Systems Integration Group. The estimated
dollar value of the procurement is $25 billion. It is anticipated that
approximately 3 prime contracts and up to 80 subcontracts will be
awarded under this procurement. The GSA networking session will allow
the proposed competing prime contractors and several groups of small
minority and women owned business the opportunity to come together and
exchange business interest with the hope of establishing a contracting
relationship under the POST-FTS2000 acquisition. Subcontracts currently
in place under the existing FTS2000 contracts include: Local network
arrangement, implementation and maintenance, Data capture/processing,
Word processing, Business information analysis, Training programs, ADP,
networking, and telecommunications, support, Communication installation
and wiring, System integration support application systems, Systems
engineering and integration. The networking session will be held on an
on-going basis up to the time of contract award. The session will
include approximately proposed prime contractors and 40 to 80 small,
small disadvantaged, and women-owned businesses to allow the maximum
number of small business to participate, small business representatives
that attended the previous networking session will not be allowed to
attend this event. To ensure that the potential prime contractors and
the small business representatives have effective communications for
establishing partnerships, only the first 80 firms to register will be
allowed to participate in this networking session. Only one
representative from each firm will be admitted. The second networking
session is scheduled for September 17, 1996 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at:
