SYNOPSIS: Work Description: The project will include the following:
(Approx. quantities) The Maintenace facility is approximately 19,904
square feet in size. The facility will house the Electro-Environmental
Shop, the Pneudraulic Repair and Reclamation Shop, a Structural
Maintenance Shop, a Metals Shop, Paint Booth room, Parts cleaning Room,
NiCad Battery Room, Air Compressor Room, and an Aquamiser Room, as well
as administrative offices, a training and break room, toilet and shower
rooms, and mechanical electrical and communications equipment rooms.
The project will include parking lots and other paving. The facility
will be a single story slab on grade brick building with standing seam
metal roofing, and includes an interior equipment loft, interior roof
drainage, operable windows, and a wet pipe sprinler system. The HVAC
is provided by 5 systems consisting of single zone units with DX
refrigerant and/or hot water coils, hot water baseboard radition units,
unit heaters, and gas-fired radiant heaters, all with EMCS controls.
The electrical requirements are for heavy-duty fabrication shop
equipment and include transient voltage surge suppressors (TVSS)
(hospital grade isolated ground, MOV type, filtering capacitors), a 400
Hz system, a 24 VDC system, duct bank and raceway systems, passive
infra-red occupancy sensors, metallic halide and high pressure sodium
fixtures, earth electrode system (EES) grounding, and some fiber optic
cable. Estimated Construction Cost: Between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000.
Project Completion and Miscellaneous Requirements: Contractor's Quality
Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be
required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and
complete the work 420 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed.
Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure
to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds
will be required. Plans and Specifications: The plans and
specifications are available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be
provided free of charge. Plans and Specifications will not be provided
in a printed hard copy format. Contractors may view and/or download
