87 -- NO. 2 BARLEY GRAIN SOL IFB No. 35-91H2-96. Due 092496. Contact Ken Eason, 510/559-6018, FAX 510/559-6023, Contract Specialist. 87 - (I) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Any amendments to this solicitation will be placed only in the CBD. (ii) Solicitation No. 35-91H2-96 is being issued as Request for Proposal. (iii) The solicitation document applies and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-38. (iv) This procurement is open to all responsible sources. The SIC Code is 0119 and the Size Standard is $0.5 million. (v) the item solicited is No. 2 Barley Grain from the 1996 growing season. (vi) Barley must have a test weight of not less than 48 pounds per bushel and no more than 15% moisture. Contamination of dirt, straw and other foreign matter shall be kept to a minimum. USDA, ARS reserves the right to perform random sampling through the delivery period. (vii) 50 Tons of the grain selected shall be delivered to the USDA/ARS Mud Lake Feedlot at Mud Lake, Idaho between January 25, and February 1, 1997. 120 tons of the grain selected shall be delivered to the U.S. Sheep Experiment Station Headquarters, located 7 miles north of Dubois, Idaho, between October 15 and October 31, 1996. The contractor will be required to make several deliveries to each location. Deliveries shall be a minimum of 30 tons. The contractor may be required to store the grain selected until the end of the delivery period (i.e. February 1, 1997) at no additional cost to the government. (viii) The following FAR provisions apply to this solicitation; 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors. All offerors are to include with their offer a completed copy of provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications. (Copies of FAR 52.212-2 and 52.212-3 are available upon request from the Contracting Officer. ) (ix) The following FAR clause applies to this acquisition: 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial items.
