The Department of Defense, Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NAVEODTECHDIV) is seeking potential commercial software sources for the generation, capture, manipulation and display of 3-dimensional graphics objects. Technologies are sought in the following areas: (1) demonstrate the ability to capture and display ordnance items using a 3-dimensional representation; (2) generate, manipulate and incorporate animation, rotation and invasive views of ordnance items; (3) provide a virtual environment for conducting remote ordnance operations; and (4) integrate video clips into existing source documentation in an organized, concise manner. Commercially available off-the-shelf software tools are desired. Responses to this announcement will be used for inforamtion gathering purposes to identify new technologies and companies capable of providing desired hardware and software expertise. Although future procurements may result from this initial market investigation, this does not guarantee that the Government will issue a request for proposal for the procurement of such an item. Responses should contain the following information: (1) description of the technologies/products involved, (2) current useage of technology along with customers, (3) hardware and software interface requirements, (4) optional accessories that may be purchased; and (5) cost.
