Air conditioners. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the
notified document: Draft Mexican Official Standard NOM-011-ENER-1996,
Energy Efficiency of Central-Type Air Conditioners. Limits, Test
Methods and Labelling. 6. Description of content: This Standard
establishes the minimum levels of energy efficiency for central-type
air conditioners; it also specifies the test method to be used for
verifying compliance and defines the labelling requirements for public
information. This Standard applies to new central-type electric air
conditioners with a cooling capacity of 10540 W to 17580 W operated by
mechanical compression that consist of one or more modules or cabinets
and include an air-cooled internal coil, a compressor and an external
coil, marketed in Mexico. 7. Objective and rationale: Conservation of
energy resources. 8. Relevant documents: Diario Oficial de la
Federacion (Official Journal) of 26 July 1996. 9. Proposed date of
adoption/proposed date of entry into force: Day following publication
in the Diario Oficial. 10. Final date for comments: 26 October 1996.
