COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 9,1996 PSA#1675Commander, Naval Air Systems Command (Code 2.0), 1421 Jefferson Davis
Hwy, Arlington, Va 22243-5120 69 -- COMPUTER BASED TRAINING FOR THE E6B AIRCRAFT POC Contact, Sherry
Bonaiuto, Phone (703)604-2000 As part of a market survey, the Naval Air
Systems Command (NAVAIR) is interested in obtaining information on
computer based training (CBT) for subsystems of the E-6B aircraft such
as the environment control system, DAISS/ICS communication system,
hydraulics systems, fuel systems, and the auxiliary power unit which
fully utilizes the capabilities of modern technology. It is requested
that each response include details on how the instructional systems
design approach will be incorporated. Technical data such as the
Logistics Support Analysis and existing paper based courseware will be
available to identify maintenance tasks and the present curriculum
approved required to support the systems. A description of how to
identify or confirm the tasks which require training, how to determine
which tasks can be supported with CBT tools, and how to model the CBT
system to a level of detail which will enable graphical depiction of
the system operation necessary to ensure the transfer of knowledge for
effective maintenance of the system is required. The Navy is
particularly interested in maximizing the use of self paced CBT media
where appropriate. A training management system compatible with the
proposed CBT system should also be addressed. Cost is a major
consideration and solutions should address cost as an independent
variable. Maintenance and life cycle support costs must be addressed.
