The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a need, under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, for small business-small purchase set-aside, multiple-award Purchase Orders for the following service in Fiscal Year 1997 with option years for Fiscal Years 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001. This requirement is for special investigators (SIs) to conduct background investigations (BIs) on applicants for potential employment with the FBI, reinvestigations on current FBI, Department of Justice, U.S. Court, and U.S. Attorney's employees. SIs will also do BIs on special inquiries such as Department of Energy, Foreign Intelligence, and Security Programs. BIs shall consist of, but not limited to, interviewing candidates, neighborhood and employment verification, interview of references and associates, and various record checks. The SI must be a former Federal Investigator who was previously employed in an official capacity as an Investigator with a Federal Agency. This notice is for Region FOUR, which consists of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Puerto Rico. This requirement is contingent upon Fiscal Year funding (Fiscal Year being October 1 of the year through September 30 of the following year) for each year.
