Mann, (757) 322-4662, Contract Specialist/Contracting Officer, Ms. Janice Spruill, (757) 322-4133 The Atlantic Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Norfolk, Virginia requires all labor, supplies, supervision, tools, materials, equipment and transportation necessary to clean tank T2B at Craney Island, Portsmouth, Virginia. The tankis a 1.5 million gallon above ground welded steel tank which stores oily wastewater. There is a significant amount of sludge accumulated in the bottom of the tank. The tank will be taken out of service in October 1996 and will be pumped down by theactivity so that a minimum amount of wastewater remains. The sludge must be removed and disposed of off site and the tank washed down and left in a clean condition, ready for inspection and work. The sludge will be analyzed and the results provided tothe contractor at the time of the bidding but it will be necessary for the contractor to re-evaluate the material so that he is responsible for disposal. This is a firm-fixed price procurement. Contract duration not to exceed 60 days.Specifications will be available on or about 10 September 1996.
