a synopsis by the Department of the Army (DA) to determine the
existence of additional sources of spares. The SINCGARS Airborne
Integrated Communications Security (ICOM) compatible, Product Improved
(PI) System, AN/ARC-201C(v) consists of the RT-1476C, RT-1477C,
RT-1478C, C-11466A, and associated components. The System Improvement
Plan (SIP) RT-1478D is also being provisioned at this time. They are
currently being procured and fielded to replace the aging and
obsolescent VHF/FM radios presently installed in DA rotary-winged
aircraft. The SINCGARS AN/ARC-201C(v) is a VHF/FM radio designed to
operate in the 30-88 MHz band is 25khz discrete channels for both
frequency hopping and single channel operation. The electronic
Counter-Countermeasures (ECCM) capability of SINCGARS will allow for
the reception of both voice and obtain a hostile jamming environment.
SINCGARS was designed to operate with existing tactical communciations
equipment of the US Army and is NATO complaint with STANAG 4202, 4204,
and 4292. The SINCGARS radio system can operate at various digital data
rates to inter-operate with other devices. There is presently only one
source for the SINCGARS Airborne ICOM/PI/SIP System, and its
Associated Components and their spares. ITT Aerospace /Communications
Division, Fort Wayne, IN. ITT A/CD designed, tested and transitioned
into production the above equipment under contracts DAAB07-78-C-0150,
DAAB07-84-C-K503, DAAB07-85-C-K561, DAAB07-88-C-T041 and
DAAB07-92-C-G004. Current end item production is on contract
DAAB07-94-C-C403. A sole source procurement to ITT A/CD for spares to
support the above mentioned equipment is planned with delivery to
commence within fifteen months of award. This procurement will be for
a number of items in varying quantities ranges and expected to exceed
two million dollars in value. The Government does not have
configuration control of drawings and there is no technical data
package available from the contractor at this time. This notice is for
subcontracting opportunities and is not a request for bids or
proposals. The deadline for response to this notice is 25 September,
