Dawson (502) 798-7857 (Site Code DAKF23) Qualified sources are being sought for a Mobile Remote Area Communication System consisting of, but not limited to, the following: Portable, reliable wireless telephone system based upon the American Mobile Phone system (AMPS) standard. The system must be a fully self-contained telephone system designed to provide wireless telephone service for a low subscriber density area. System must support voice and data transfer. System must have its own switch and subscriber registration system, must be modular in design. The system should work around an 800 MHZ frequency band with multiple channels and be capable of direct connection to external public telephone networks via land lines (DID, T1 or E1), microwave or VSAT links. Typical range should be 25 kilometers when antennas are optimally placed for line-of-sight transmission. Base station channels and parameters must be programmable. System must use standard modems and able to connect to a Local Area Network (LAN) or a Wide Area Network (WAN). The system must be complete with antennas, cables, operator console, printer, modem, and all necessary modules for immediate operation. The applicable SIC is 4813, 1500 employees. Information as to whether a firm is considered a small business shall be provided. Interested parties should submit information on their products with 20 calendar days after publication of this notice. This is not a request for proposal and no contract award will be made on the basis of any responses to this notice, but all responsible sources may identify themselves to the Contracting Officer.
