965-9534 The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, supervision
and equipment necessary to move furniture and toys, remove carpet,
covebase molding, and to install Government furnished carpet, edge
guards, vinyl cove base molding and vinyl flooring, in the Woodlawn Day
Care Center located at the Social Security Administration, 6401
Security Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21235. The dimensions are
approximately 1500 square yards. It is the contractor's responsibility
to verify all measurements. Material Safety Data Sheets must be
provided for all chemicals to be used at the time your quote is
submitted. A. SUBMITTALS: 1. Material Safety Data Sheets for all
chemical products being used. B. ACCESSORIES 1. Seaming Cement:
Hot-melt adhesive tape or similar product recommended by carpet
manufacturer for taping seams and butting cut edges at backing to form
secure seams and to prevent pile loss at seams. 2. Carpet Adhesive:
Water resistant and nonstaining as recommended by carpet manufacturer
to comply with flammability requirements for installed carpet.
C.INSTALLATION: Comply with industry standard methods for installation
and other requirements that are applicable to type of floor covering
being included in project. Comply with manufacturer's directions
including those for trowel notching, adhesive mixing, and adhesive open
and working times. D. DELIVERY TIME: This job will be accomplished in
two phases: Phase one, will begin on September 29, 1996 and include the
removal of covebase molding. Phase two, will begin once all Government
furnished materials (carpet, vinyl flooring, covebase molding, edge
guard) are received by the Government, the contractor shall have 30
days to complete all work under this contract. Once work phase II has
started, the contractor shall complete all work within 4 consecutive
weekends. E. WORKING HOURS: All work is to be accomplished between the
hours of 6:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Friday; 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday
and Sunday except for Government holidays. Work is to continue each
consecutive weekend until completion. All areas within the Child Care
Center must be cleaned up and ready for occupancy prior to opening of
the Center on Monday morning at 6 a.m. F. Prior to performing this
work, the contractor shall issue to the project officer a list of all
of the contractor employees's names and social security numbers that
will be working on this project. G.STORAGE AND DISPOSAL OF MATERIALS:
The contractor is not permitted to store materials on Government
premises. The contractor shall not be permitted to use Government
containers or compactors for disposal of materials. All materials and
debris shall be removed from Government premises by the contractor. H.
INSPECTIONS: Final inspection shall be made by the project officer, or
his/her representative, within 5 working days from completion. Any
deficiencies or omissions shall be corrected by the contractor within
14 days of notification. SITE INSPECTION: In submitting a bid, the
contractor acknowledges and agrees that he/she has carefully examined
and understands the plans, specifications, and all other contract
documents, that he/she visited the site and acquainted him/herself with
the building, the site, the area of repair, replacement work, the
security conditions, accessibility, and operation under which he/she
will be obligated to perform his/her work. There will be a one time
site visit on September 23, 1996 at 9:00 A.M. Everyone will meet in the
main lobby of the Social Security Administration, 6401 Security Blvd.,
Baltimore, Maryland 21235. If you are attending please contact Kathy

day of the walk- through. This announcement constitutes a request for
an oral solicitation/quotation; Therefore a written solicitation will
