The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) is seeking commercial vendors of technology which supports a shipping/storage container that is secure and senses light, internal moisture (humidity), motion, and internal/external temperature. The container must have the capability to monitor its integrity, in real time, and notify security personnel if any attempt is made to breach it. The container should use the Global Positioning System (GPS) for tracking purposes and have RF communications capability for read/write tagging and accountability. Interested parties are requested to provide by 30 Sep 96: (1) specification or engineering documents or brochures which describe the capabilities of their commercially available or non-developmental item devices which meet the requirements specified above; (2) cost of these devices, both individually and in quantity; and (3) point(s) of contact who can provide additional information, if required. Based upon the results of this Sources Sought announcement, a solicitation may or may not be issued at a later date.
