COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 10,1996 PSA#1676National Cancer Institute, Research Contracts Branch, PSCS 6120
Executive Blvd, EPS/RM 638 Bethesda, MD 20892-7228 B -- BREAST CANCER CASE-CONTROL DIFFERENCES SOL RFQ60143(NR) POC
Marsha Gorham, Purchasing Agent, (301)402-4509, Patricia Haun,
Contracting Officer (301)402-4509. Under the authority of 41 U.S.C.
253(c)(1) Far 6.302-1, the National Cancer Institute intends to obtain
services from Endocrine Sciences, 4301 Lost Hills Road, Calabasas
Hills, California, 93101 to evaluate levels of endogenous estrogens.
These services are associated with a NCI effort to assess breast cancer
case-control differences in serum level of two estrogens: weekly bound
estradiol plus estrone and estrone sultface. There is substantial
interest in the possibility that higher levels of endogenous estrogens
may increase the risk of breast cancer. Endocrine Sciences has
demonstrated the ability to obtain the lowest coefficients of
variations and the highest intraclass correlations at a very reasonable
market price. This has been demonstrated by previous feasibilty studies
to determine the reproducibility of results on the same day for large
scale epidemiologic surveys. This notice of intent is not a
solicitation for competitive proposals, however, if an interested party
believes they can meet the above specifications, they must submit their
capabilties, and furnish concise responses directed specifically to the
requirement mentioned above. Information furnished shall include enough
material to perform a proper evaluation. Offeror will not be notified
of the evaluation results. AWARD WILL BE MADE 20 DAYS FROM THE RELEASE
OF THIS SYNOPSIS. See Numbered Note(s): 1, 22. (0250) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0022 19960909\B-0003.SOL)
