General Elevator Company is the current maintenance and repair contractor responsible for the elevators and escalators for the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, Maryland. SSA believes this to be a sole source acquisition and to allow another company to work on the General Elevator maintained elevators would jeopardize the existing maintenance contract and associated warranties. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to remove and replace existing elevator hoist motor drive sheaves and hoist ropes on four Armor Elevators, number 4B machines, Assembly #D704002, on elevator numbers 28, 29, 30, and 31. These elevators are located at the Social Security Administration's West High Rise Building, 6401 Security Blvd., Baltimore, Maryland. Time for completion is 60 calendar days from notice to proceed.
