THE 16TH INTERNATIONAL BALLISTICS SYMPOSIUM AND EXHIBITION The 16th International Ballistics Symposium and Exhibition will be held at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, San Francisco, California from 23 through 27 September, 1996. The unclassified symposium, will provide a forum for scientists and engineers from governments, industries and universities of 21 countries to meet, exchange views, and present recent technological advances. Presentations will embrace new ballistics theory, warhead technologies, experimental results, theories, analytical and numerical technologies, modeling-unique and innovative experimental methods and practical ideas representing an advance in the state-of-the-art. The subject material is grouped into the traditional six ballistics subjects - internal, external and terminal ballistics, launch dynamics, warhead mechanism and vulnerability. Ballistics 16 was prepared from over 350 abstracts submitted worldwide. The Symposium will present 14 oral sessions over the 4 active days. The schedule has time devoted to the presentation of 180 posters boards on display and the 23 exhibits manned by well known ballistics companies. Other events presented include an ice-breaker reception, four luncheons, a visit to Alcatraz Island, a banquet and refreshments for breakfast and two daily breaks.
