Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company (TOLIC) which currently is under contract with HCFA for Medicare Part B claims processing is seeking sources for the printing and distribution of the annual publication of the Medicare Participating Physicians and Suppliers Directory (MEDPARD). Delivery will be to Los Angeles with distribution in the Southern California counties. Planned specifications and volumes are anticipated as follows: MEDPARD Directory - 17'' x 11'' folds to 81/2'' x 11'', cover is self mailer, 3 color (red, blue and black) 70lb offset book paper, balance of directory black 50lb offset book paper, number of area directories is 9, minimum age count of approximately 50 to maximum of 150 pages per directory (1000 total pages), page count and quantity for each area varies, the total number of directories printed is 35,000. Mail date of initial mailing of 29,000 directories in February 14, 1997. Interested parties must respond no later than September 20th, 1996 to obtain a copy of the detailed specifications and proposals criteria. Quotations must be submitted no later than October 4, 1996. Responses will be reviewed and evaluated 70% on cost and 30% on meeting the specific requests as detailed above.
