71 -- SHELVING SOL 1PI-R-0598-96 DUE 111196 POC Contract Specialist, CALABRO, ALICE, 202/508-3954 UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries,Inc., in Terminal Island, CA intends to enter into a contract with the private sector in order for the contractor to provide raw materials, component parts, subassemblies, and finished goods related to Modular Rivet Lock Nutless Boltless Shelving Products. UNICOR will work in conjunction with the contractor with the manufacturing practices, technical support, and marketing of the products. UNICOR will purchase components parts in various stages of production for completion by Federal Prison Industries which in turn will be sold to UNICOR's customers under the UNICOR/FPI Brand Name. The finished products UNICOR will sell to its customers may resemble, be equal to, or vary significantly from the items that are sold by the successful contractor. The proposals submitted will be evaluated by the following criteria: Price; Past performance; Inmate Work Value; Delivery/leadtime; and Technical. Interested vendors will provide written proposals as well as conduct oral presentations for Federal Prison Industries representatives which will be utilized in conjunction with the written proposals to evaluate the prospective contractor's capabilities.
