Linda Wong (415) 556-2488. The National Park Service, Golden Gate
National Recreation Area has identified a requirement to procure for
maintenance and emergency repair services of the overhead and
underground electrical distribution systems (including street and
parking area lighting) and the emergency generation systems for the
non-Presidio areas of Golden Gate National Recreation Area, such as
Fort Mason, West Fort Baker, Kirby Beach, Fort Barry, Fort Funston,
Fort Miley, Shelldance Nursery and Mount Tamalpais, CA. The 4.16 KV
electrical system at Fort Mason includes one (1) electrical substation.
The only area included in the contract at Fort Barry is the Capehart
Housing area. The overhead 4.16 KV lines, which start from the wooden
pole next to the Vista Point at East Fort Baker through the West Fort
Baker area to the Marin Headlands Park at Kirby Beach and the secondary
lines at Fort Miley and Shelldance Nursery areas, will be under
contract of Indefinite Quantity of Work only and no maintenance work
will be in the contract. At Mt Tamalpais and Fort Funston, the
contractor shall maintain the 12 KV lines and shall coordinate with
P.G.&E. if power shut-down is required. Two (2) generators at East Fort
Baker and one (1) at Fort Cronkhite will also be included in this
contract for maintenance. It is anticipated that contract award shall
be for a base period, effective date of contract through September 30,
1997, and two (2) one-year options, exercisable at the sole discretion
of Golden Gate National Recreation Area, subject to availability of
funds. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 1731. Request
for solicitation will be available o/a September 30, 1996. This
solicitation is an unrestricted procurement inviting full and open
competition. The National Park Service, Golden Gate NRA, welcomes and
encourages small, small disadvantaged, and women-owned business
concerns to participate. There is a non-refundable fee of $50.00 for
the solicitation. Payment may ONLY be made by money order or cashier's
check made payable to the National Park Service. Request for IFB MUST
be submitted in writing to the address contained herein. Planholders
list will be mailed (not faxed) upon written request. NOTICE TO
BIDDERS: FUNDS ARE NOT PRESENTLY AVAILABLE FOR THIS PROCUREMENT. NO
AWARD WILL BE MADE UNTIL FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO MAKE PAYMENTS UNDER A
CONTRACT. THE GOVERNMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THIS
SOLICITATION, EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER THE IFB CLOSING, WITH NO
OBLIGATION TO THE BIDDER BY THE GOVERNMENT. All responsible sources may
