Detachment has a requirement for a Straddle Carry Crane for U.S. Navy
crafts. Crane shall be propane engine driven, hydraulic powered,
traveling, steerable, and capable of lifting and transporting a U.S.
Navy craft with a gross weight up to 100 tons by means of wire rope
cable and rigging. The equipment shall be of the manufacturer's current
field proven design. The crane shall be capable of transporting the
craft over various terrain to suitable work areas and then reversing
the process, all under one person control. Delivery shall be made
F.O.B. destination to Pearl Harbaor, HI and is required no later than
December 1997. Operational test required at origin and destination.
Final acceptance will be done at destination. Data, erection and
assembly to be included. Onsite training services shall be required and
be for a period of time sufficient to instruct personnel of the
journeyman mechanic's level in the proper operation and maintenance of
the equipment. Based upon market research, the Government is not using
the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in
its solicitaiton for the described supplies or services. However,
interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their
interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement with a
