the process of technology transfer and commercialization, the DOC's
Economic Development Administration and Bureau of Export Administration
and the SBA are sponsoring six conferences designed to help small- and
medium-sized businesses take advantage of emerging and existing
technologies. Speakers and presentations will cover a wide range of
topics, including private sector success stories, technology transfer,
the latest news on SBIRs, STTRs, the ATP, and the CRADA process,
partnering effectively with federal and state agencies, procurement
opportunities, accessing various sources of capital and financing,
achieving increased competitiveness and profitability through
networking, identifying international markets and understanding patent
and intellectual property rights issues. The forum will include
presentations and exhibits by representatives from the NASA Regional
Technology Transfer Centers, the Patent and Trademark Office, the
Federal Laboratory Consortium, the Electronic Commerce Resource Center,
DOE Defense Laboratories, Navy Best Manufacturing Practices Program,
Army, Navy and Air Force Laboratories, the Environmental Protection
Agency, and Ballistic Missile Defense Organization. Conferences are
scheduled for Austin, Texas (9/26/96), San Diego, California (10/8/96),
Oakland, California (10/10/96), Long Island, New York (10/24/96), St.
