16 -- NON-DEVELOPMENTAL ITEM CRASHWORTHY PASSENGER TROOP SEATS FOR THE CH-53 HELICOPTER SOL N00421-C-1038,P00008 POC Dawn B. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) intends to procure on a firm fixed price basis the following supplies/services: 1) Turnkey Installations on the CH-53D, CH-53E and CH-53ME helicopters, 2)50 additional seats that will be used in the turnkey installations, 3)airframe reinforcement kits, 4) change the attachment pin chains to braided cable, 5) stress analysis on the proposed seat and attaching hardware. This action is a sole cource new procurement modification (P00003) to contract N00421-96-C-1038. This effort involves work on Israel Aircraft Industries CH-53 troop seat which was chosen on a full and open competitive basis. This new procuremetn modification will be negotiated on a sole source basis with Israel Aircraft Industries, Inc. under the statutory authority FAR 6.302-1 (only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements.
