The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City, FL is seeking potential sources for a portable breathing air test kit to be used aboard U.S. Naval Vessels. The Navy is seeking sources of non-developmental items and contemplates a competitive procurement for such devices in the future. If a solicitation should be developed from this, it will be announced in the Commerce Business Daily. The proposed kit should be designed to test the air from compressors, compressed air cylinders (SCBA) or SCBA fill stations to verify Grade D air quality. The unit must be designed to test high pressure air systems from 3000 to 4500 psig. The components to be quantitively tested are oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, water vapor and oil particulates. The testing should take no longer than one hour whether all four components are tested simultaneously or individually. Results of air purity should be available immediately, not having to send samples to a lab. The information supplied should include technical descriptions of any devices a potential offeror may propose to meet this specific application (including known previous field uses of the devices) and information on how the proposed device would meet the previously mentioned technical goals.
