B -- ASSIST IN REVIEW SAFETY OF RAIL OPERATIONS AT WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY (WMATA) SOL DTRS57-96-Q-80212 DUE 093096 POC Karen Doyle, Purchasing Agent, (617) 494-2437. The Volpe Center plans to procure a sole-source, through simplified acquisition procedures, the support to assist in the review safety of rail operations at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority (WMATA). This support will be procured through Interactive Elements, Inc., of New York, who has performed previous safety investigations for the Volpe Center. Interactive Elements will provide the necessary personnel, materials, and other resources to investigate the accidents, incidents, and safety-related decisions to identify any deficiencies in management, supervision, training, procedures or communications that may have comprised rail safety in accordance with the statement of work included in the solicitation. Small Business Firms under SIC CODE 8731 that are interested in proposing on this requirement must demonstrate in writing to the Contracting Officer, no later than 15 days from date of CBD publication that they have performed previous safety investigations of rail operations. Small business firms will be required to submit documentation in support of the above for evaluation by the Government prior to receiving a quotation. A single award will result from this solicitation.
