SWEDEN: PACKAGING The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 96.303. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: SWEDEN. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Ministry of the Environment. Agency or authority designated to handle comments regarding the notification can be indicated if different from above. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Packaging. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Ordinance on Changes in Ordinance on Cadmium. 6. Description of content: The Swedish Government also intends to propose a new Ordinance Concerning Highest Allowed Concentration of Certain Heavy Metals in Packaging and therefore a change in the Ordinance (1985:839) on Cadmium, in order to implement Article 11 in the Directive 94/62/EC. 7. Objective and rationale: To implement the European and Council Directive 94/62/EC of 20 December 1994 on packaging and packaging waste. The suggested legislation shall due to Article 16 in Directive 94/62/EC be notified due to the procedure in Directive 83/189/EEC and shall therefore be notified under both Directives within the same procedure. 8.
