being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 96.307.
1. Member to Agreement notifying: CZECH REPUBLIC. If applicable, name
of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency
responsible: Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing (COSMT)
Agency or authority designated to handle comments regarding the
notification can be indicated if different from above. 3. Notified
under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable,
otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in
addition, where applicable): Fruit spreads. 5. Title, number of pages
and language(s) of the notified document: Draft Standard CSN 56 8610
Fruit Spreads, 15 pages, in Czech. 6. Description of content: The draft
standard contains the basic requirements on jams, jellies, marmalades,
povidls and clevelas. Some provisions have national character. Of
those the following are proposed to be mandatory: 4.3.4 Sweetened
povidls; 4.3.5 Clevelas; 4.5 Fruits content in product; 6.1 Packaging;
7. Labelling. Only these provisions are notified under the TBT
Agreement. 7. Objective and rationale: Consumers' protection. 8.
