The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Indianapolis intends to award a full and open competition contract for a molded/potted cable assembly for a base quantity of 20 with options for 20 additional units. The cable assembly will consist of a four foot length of Ethylene-propylene-diene-elastomer (EPDM) cable with 4 - 20 gauge conductors that are molded/potted at each end to an anodized cast housing. The contractor shall be responsible for the design and fabrication of 2 tooling molds, cable assembly, and process documentation. Completed cable assemblies will be subjected to environmental test exposures and must withstand tests for fungus, sand/dust, low pressure, salt, fog, and salt water corrosion. Potted connections shall withstand the environmental effects of subsurface transportation imposed at 66 feet of salt water for two hours without leakage or degradation.
