59 -- PHYSICAL MEDIA, MULTIMODE FIBER MEDIA INTERFACE MODULES SOL N00253-96-Q-0596 POC Contact Point: Julie Peterson, 360-396-5673 The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport (NUWCDK) is soliciting for 51 each physical media multimode fiber media interface modules, part number CONC-PHY-MM-ST. These units are to be used in a Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) concentrator which supports a high speed fiber optic Local Area Network which connects portions of the Advanced Tomahawk Weapon Control System. The Government intends to negotiate this requirement with Interphase Corporation, 13800 Senlac, Dallas, TX 75234, on a sole source basis. Interphase Corp. is the original equipment manufacturer of the FDDI concentrator. These modules must fit into the existing FDDI concentrator. These modules are under software control in the FDDI concentrator; the software is proprietary to Interphase Corp. The Government cannot provide specifications for a competitive procurement.
