COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 17,1996 PSA#1681THE NINTH ACCESSIBLE COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE (ACT IX) will be on
October 9, 1996 in the lobby of the U. S. Department of Commerce at
Constitution Avenue and 14th Street in Washington D.C. The ACT IX
Conference will be a leading showcase for state of the art electronic
accessible technology for people with disabilities and kicks off
October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month. ACT IX is
presented by the U. S. Department of Commerce with the co-sponsorship
of many Federal government agencies in order to promote accessible
technology and demonstrate that individuals with disabilities can have
equal access to the electronic office equipment essential in today's
workplace and to show that everyone can benefit from accessible
technology through universal design. We are inviting designers and
manufacturers of accessible technology to participate in ACT IX. This
is an excellent opportunity for companies that offer specialized
accessible products to display and demonstrate them in highly visible
surroundings. This year, as in previous years, there are no exhibitors'
fees. For additional information and registration packets contact Zoe
