65 -- BLOOD GAS ANALYZER AND SUPPLIES SOL DADA13-96-R-0021 DUE 101396 POC Contract Specialist Robbin O. Goldsby (206) 968-4913 (Site Code DADA13) Madigan Army Medical Center requires a blood gas analyzer to be used during open heart surgery to test for analytes such as pH, pC02, p02, chloride, potassium, sodium, ionized calcium and hematocrit. It is estimated that approximately 300 samples will be tested per month. The analyzer will be used by perfusionists as opposed to laboratory personnel. The Government would prefer to enter into an agreement whereby the equipment is provided at no cost. All reagents, supplies, accessories necessary would be purchased on a requirements type basis from the successful contractor. Title to the equipment would remain with the contractor. It is desired that a contract be in place no later than 1 January 1997 through 31 December 1997. Two option years would be included. The successful contractor shall provide an analyzer which gives accurate results in less than 120 seconds, uses a blood sample size of less than 2 cc, is portable, compact and has table top orientation. Additionally, the unit shall have dual power supplies lasting approximately 60 minutes and shall provide a user lock out option. Results shall be stored electronically and a method available for transference to centralized lab records. Reagents shall be cartridge style with self containing waste collection system and reagents. The analyzer shall be subject to validation studies performed by the main laboratory at Madigan Army Medical Center and must meet or exceed precision and accuracy standards claimed by the manufacturer.
