(703) 875-6030 The U.S. Department of State has a requirement for 9
vehicle radiation monitors to be deployed in Central Europe. Monitors
are to restrict and control vehicular movement of special nuclear
materials. Monitor sensitivity must meet Los Alamos specification #7229
and be capable of monitoring vehicles moving through check points up to
30 feet wide. Units must have a audible tone alarm with multiples of
standard deviation selected by internal dipswitches. A two pillar
system is required with at least two organic plastic scintillators in
each pillar. Each pillar must have the sensitivity to individually
detect unshielded sources of Uranium ore, in vehicles traveling 10 mph,
at a minimum distance of 10 feet. Power requirements: 90-250 VAC, 47-63
HZ. Backup battery life: Minimum of 12 hours after external power
failure. Units must be weather proof with easy accessibility for
testing and maintenance. Test points are desired. Interested offerors
are requested to submit information and specifications of their vehicle
