ALPAY, (805) 982-0411 The Port Hueneme Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center has a requirement for engineering and technical services to install Ordalts, troubleshoot and correct problems, repair and provide major testing of the AN/SPG-55B radars aboard the INS VENETO as part of the Italian Navy Terrier Modernization Program. The basic contract period is 21 Deccember 1996 through 31 March 1997. Option year I is 01 April 1997 through 31 December 1997. Option year II is 01 January 1998 through 31 December 1998. Option year III is 01 January 1999 through 31 December 1999. The period of performance, inclusive of options, will total 34 months and 10 days. This requirement will be negotiated on a sole source basis with Lockheed Martin Tactical Defense Systems, Great Neck, NY in accordance with 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Lockheed Martin Tactical Defense Systems is the design agent and manufacturer of the AN/SPG-55B radar and is the only source having the requisite in-house documentation and engineering staff to provide support on site the INS VENETO. Lockheed Martin has the proprietary data rights and master drawings to the AN/SPG-55B radar. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded. The RFP will be available on or about 01 October 1996. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by this agency. The deadline for submitting proposals will be 30 calendar days after the effective date of the RFP. See Numbered Note 22. (0260)
