Access to the installation is from Interstate I-87 or I-84 to 17K to the main gate of the Air National Guard Base. Base bid work includes site preparation and grading, parking area and access to the existing roadway, extending existing underground utilities to the new facility (water, sanitary, storm, electrical, natural gas and communications), site landscaping area lighting and construction of a 1,100 sq. meter (12,000 sq ft) facility to house a C-5 flight simulator, learning center, associated administrative functions and HVAC/simulator mechanical/computer support functions. In addition, there are five additive bid items (ABIs) for this project. They are: ABI 1- Provide asphalt paving in lieu of crushed stone paving; ABI 2- Provide screen wall around exterior transformer and mechanical equipment; ABI 3- Provide additional site landscaping; ABI 4- Provide above ground fuel storage tank (500 gal #2 fuel oil); and ABI 5- Provide head end programmers processor and interface software package with interconnection from new Building to Building 207. The applicable Standard Industrial Code (SIC) and Federal Supply Code (FSC) are 1542 and Y299 respectively. The location of work is listed above. The proposed project magnitude is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. IFB: DAHA30-96-B-0012 will be issued on/about 02 Oct 96, with a bid opening date on/about 02 Nov 97.
