The Defense Information System Agency/Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DISA/DITCO) has a requirement for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), 633 Hardesty, Bldg 6, Kansas City MO 64124 for three (3) separate Short-haul Digital Communication Microwave Systems. Each system must consist of the following (a-h): (a) DSX-1 (ANSI T1.102-1987) Interface. (b) Bipolar B8ZS Line Code. (c) Clear Channel Format. (d) Two ft. antenna size limit (due to space restrictions). (e) Spread spectrum modulation type require to eliminate any weather interferance or system degradation. (f) System must operate in unlicensed frequency range to allow system use in all metro areas. (g) RF radios to be mounted externally to accommodate variety of antenna location (limited waveguide runs).
