Farves (703) 308-4188 The government intends to issue a request for proposal for buses, Transit type forward control chassis, rear engine, 4X2, 6X2, 6X4. The buses shall comply with the commercial purchase descriptions. Buses must be tested at the altoona bus testing center to meet the eligibility requirements of the federal Transit administration (title 49CFR, part 665). This request for proposal will result in a requirements contract (no guarantee quantity). Request for proposal to issue on or about September 27, 1996, and close on or about October 29, 1996, 3:30 PM local time. Contract period will be one base year with three one-year option periods. Option period will contain an annual economic price adjustment clause. Written notice of intent to extend the contract shall be given the contractor 60 days before expiration of the contract period. Delivery of buses will be required within 240 days form notice of award. First production vehicle inspection will be required. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by the agency. Offers must be in English and U.S. dollars. Copies of the RFP are available form the address above.
