The American Defense Preparedness Association in support of the Industrial Ecology Center at US Army Armament, Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), will conduct a symposium on ``Environment in Defense Acquisition'', November 20-21, 1996 at the Hilton Hotel in Parsippany, New Jersey. The symposium will address changes in legislation, DoD acquisition policy and several Executive Orders, and impact on life cycle management of hazardous materials and costs for both government and industry. Environmental requirements are therefore a more significant issue within the acquisition life cycle. The symposium will highlight topics in environment research and development, technology demonstrations, environmental management (ISO 9000/14000), life cycle assessment and costing tools. This two day meeting is technical in nature and comprehensive in scope. It should meet the needs of the technical community and be of particular value to technical marketing personnel, research and development engineers, project managers, systems designers and research and development engineers. This symposium will bring together personnel from industry and government to examine the future conduct of Environment in Defense Acquisition. Some of the keynote speakers include Ms. Sherri W.
